Are you a young teenager or veteran facing the deepest despair and contemplating suicide? Where can you turn? Are you a young father facing eviction because you lost your job? Where can you turn? Are you elderly and frail, confined to your bed in a long-term care facility and you aren’t getting fed or cared for properly? Where can you turn?

All of these people and many others can turn to 211 Community Connect for help.

Founded in 1966, Community Connect is one of Riverside Counties oldest nonprofits. As of 2015, Community Connect's Alternative Sentencing Program (ASP) now operates in San Bernardino, assisting individuals sentenced to court-ordered community service, domestic violence counseling, and anger management courses connect with resources to complete their service saving tax-payer money, helping local nonprofits, and helping the local community.  

Community Connect helps hundreds of thousands of people every year through four distinct programs. 

  • 2-1-1 Riverside County: A 24-hours a day, 7 days a week hotline for people to find critical resources for such things as emergency food, shelter, medical care, utility payment assistance, and a multitude of other services.
  • Alternative Sentencing Program: provides behavior-modifying education to people who have committed crimes and who complete intense, meaningful courses that prevent jail service and help lessen the overcrowded jail system.
  • HelpLine: a 24 hour a day suicide prevention and crisis hotline for people in dire situations who need someone to reach out to for counseling and guidance, or just to reassure them that they are not alone. 
  • Transportation Assistance Program: provides bus tickets to over 120 other nonprofits to distribute to their clients for emergency transportation to critical appointments.
