Our mission is to mentor and educate underserved youth and provide them with life skills and pathways to success.

ONH envisions a community in which all youth, without regard of their living situation, have an equal opportunity to pursue their goals and dreams, and an equal likelihood of achieving them.

Why:  San Bernardino City leads the state and often is found in the top 10 in the nation in multiple community impact categories.
1. The High School drop rate
2. Youth murder rate
3. Foster youth
4. Youth in the judicial system
5. Mental health diagnosis
6. Youth living in homelessness
San Bernardino City youth are desperately in need of positive and meaningful resources that will provide them the tools to build a road map for success.

Operation New Hope gives San Bernardino students skills to pursue their dreams:

Understanding the challenges of this population, Operation New Hope (2010) formed a successful collaboration to create a Youth Opportunity  Center to help “catch” at risk youth before they become too disconnected.  As a result, ONH was able to stimulate, sustain and intensively engage out of school youth into comprehensive services in San Bernardino County. (2010-2021) 5388 youth served: 503 graduated with an accredited high school diploma, 83% securely employed and or enrolled in to higher               education or technical schools.

Each year, thousands of students drop out of school. The path forward for these students is difficult, and failing to fully educate the next generation of workers and leaders has substantial long-term consequences for our shared economic and social well being.

The financial ramification of one student dropping out of High School hurts more than the individual.  Taxpayers pick up the cost; research has highlighted the cost for the community is $292,000 over the course of one-dropout students lives.

ONH's Objective – Increase the success rate of those classified as “dropouts” throughout San Bernardino County by providing Youth Opportuntiy Center's where youth have access to case management, mentoring, educational opportunities, housing programs, mental health support, food programs, leadership development, career pathway programs, tutoring, and much more.  With these supportive services, we are confident that we can assist San Bernardino County in achieving more success of the disconnected youth such as our Foster Youth, Teen Parents, Homeless, Low Income, and those experiencing the Judicial System.

Our solution: ONH provides a Youth Opportunity Center where local community based organizations provide a safe & healthy environment, where we provide wrap around services to meet the needs of our beloved youth.

We aim to Increase high school graduation rates, provide mental health resources, providing workshops: cognitive life skills, parenting, financial literacy, healthy relationships skills, trauma informed, restorative justice projects, health awareness, and much more.
